Privacy Policy

he Family Wealth Education Institute ("FWEI"), maintains physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with Federal standards to protect its students’ nonpublic personal information (“information”). Through this policy and its underlying procedures, FWEI attempts to secure the confidentiality of student records and information and protect against anticipated threats or hazards to the security or integrity of student records and information.

Students may interact with FWEI via chat sessions, lectures Q&A, shared documents, text, email or oral discussions with instructors or affiliates or in other ways. No student is required to share confidential information or documents, but some may choose to in order to obtain feedback from instructors or affiliates or for other reasons. Where students wish to share documents, they are encouraged to use FWEI’s suggested encryption protocols or other secure transmission means, including paper mail, to protect against hacking, but FWEI accepts no responsibility for students who do not utilize such protections, and no liability for the efficacy of encryption systems prepared by unaffiliated IT vendors.

It is the policy of FWEI to restrict access to all current and former students’ information (i.e., any shared information and records pertaining to personal background, financial objectives or situation, tax information, investment objectives and/or holdings, account numbers if shared by student [which is discouraged], account balances, etc.) to those associates and affiliated/non-affiliated entities who reasonably need to know such information in order to serve students. FWEI may disclose the students’ information if FWEI is: (1) previously authorized to disclose the information to individuals and/or entities not affiliated with FWEI, including, but not limited to the students’ professional advisors and/or service providers (i.e., attorney, financial planner, accountant, insurance agent, broker-dealer, investment adviser, account custodian, etc.); (2) required to do so by judicial or regulatory process; or (3) otherwise permitted to do so in accordance with the parameters of applicable federal and/or state privacy regulations. It is FWEI’s practice to NOT sell or otherwise share such information with non-associates/non-affiliates. The disclosure of information contained in any document offered or completed by a student for processing and/or transmittal by FWEI in order to facilitate the commencement/continuation/termination of a counselor relationship between the student and an affiliated or non-affiliated third party service provider (i.e., attorney, financial planner, accountant, insurance agent, broker-dealer, investment adviser, account custodian, etc.), including information contained in any document shared, completed and/or executed by the student for FWEI (i.e., student information form, account statements, estate planning documents, etc.), shall be deemed as having been automatically authorized by the student with respect to the corresponding non-affiliated third party service provider. With respect to advisor-students (financial planners, investment advisors, attorneys, CPAs, EAs, etc.) the forgoing confidentiality protocols are extended to business and professional confidential information.
